Canva’s online design tool lets people all around the world craft graphics such as logos, collages, and invitations, but the team felt its image repository lacked international flair. They wanted to provide users all around the world with photos relevant to them, so they partnered with Snapwire.
Canva needed imagery for specific countries that represented gaps in its photo coverage— Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, France, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, India, and China. Snapwire’s project management team helped build briefs, locate and hire 50 creators already in those countries, and launch projects that were completed within weeks. Snapwire used a combination of algorithmic and hand- curation to surface the best photos for Canva’s team to use, and Canva received access to a repository of 11,000 on-brand images.
