StudioNow Image Partner Program

StudioNow was founded on the idea that collaboration can lead to bigger and better things. Working with image partners has long been a standard practice in the photo licensing industry, and we are now bringing it to the forefront with a series of Private Requests and Open Challenges. Our goal is to enable our photographers to pursue what they love most and possibly turn that passion into a career. This is one of the reasons why we created our Image Partner Program and encourage all StudioNow photographers to participate.

How does it work?

Image partners use our Private Request or Open Challenges to invite relevant submissions. StudioNow will source the highest quality content available. These Challenges and Requests require you to opt into a either an exclusive orco-exclusive relationship with the StudioNow and the Image Partner. In order to participate into these programs, it is critical that you obtain proper model and property releases in order to sell a license on your photo. This means that if anyone appears in your image (even if they are not recognizable) you will need a valid release for those individuals. If you choose to submit an image without a release where one is required it will not be chosen to participate in the Image Partner Program.. Need help drafting up a model release? Download our model release app here. Many partners also require a minimum pixel size so be sure to export your images at the highest resolution possible!

StudioNow may also deem premium and select photos from our marketplace as worthy of our Image Partner Program channels. You can always change the way your images are made available to our Image Partners in your Content Manager.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Exclusivity?

A: Exclusivity will require you to agree that the image you are submitting is not available for license anywhere else other than through StudioNow.

Q: What is co-exclusivity?

A: Co-exclusivity will require you to agree that the image you are submitting is not available for license anywhere else other than through StudioNow and the respective Image Partner site.

Q: How will I know if my photo is chosen?

A: In most cases if an editor nominates your photo it means they intend to use it across the Partner Channel so long as your photo meets all the required criteria. Additionally, StudioNow may also have some creators participate in direct requests to produce custom content specifically meant for our partner channels and marketplace library. A project manager will contact you directly if you are chosen for this. If you are chosen to participate for an assignment for a Partner, you will be asked to sign a unique contributor agreement that affords StudioNow the right to represent your content.

Q: Will I retain the rights to my photos if they are chosen?

A: Yes, you will always retain the legal copyright to your photos. The only exception to this is in a buyout, in which case you will be contacted directly by the party who wishes to acquire the copyright and pay you for that photo.

Q: Can I ever opt out of StudioNow’s channel partnerships?

A: Of course! We know breakups can be difficult, but if you decide you would no longer like to participate in the Image Partner Program, please just contact us and turn your images off for channel partnerships in your content manager. It may take a bit of time to track down and remove your images from partners but it will be done per our terms of service!

Q: Someone is not recognizable in my photo, do I really still need a release?

A: Yes, you really do still need to upload a release. Many buyers are very wary of images that do not have a release if someone appears in the photo. This has to do with possible legal ramifications against those buyers should that person bring legal action.

Q: What price will my photo be sold for on other sites?

A: This will depend on the partner itself and quality of the photo you submit. However, a good ballpark range is what you already see on StudioNow and in some cases for premium agencies your photos may actually be priced higher. We always do our best to negotiate the most favorable terms upfront but cannot guarantee a specific price point.

Q: What percentage do I get to keep?

A: You get to keep 50% of what StudioNow collects. We will not know the exact amount of what your photos will license for until they are sold.

Q: How will I be paid or how often will I get paid?

A: You will get paid through StudioNow and can withdraw your earnings in your payouts via your preferred payment method(s). We receive sales reports from our Partners either monthly or quarterly. In either case, we will report your earnings once we receive a statement from a partner and process your sales accordingly.
