Sacro Monte di Ossuccio. A good time to visit the UNESCO listed Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy historical sites would be around the month of April but not at Easter. Some of the access roads are so narrow that I can imagine it would be horrendous to visit these sacred places when the pilgrim crowds do. The somewhat strenuous uphill walking involved wouldn't be so idyllic in the summer months either. photo
