Nokyocho are booklets for having each of the 88 temples on the Shikoku Pilgrimage trail to put the temple's official seal and artful calligraphy into the booklet. It serves as a kind of proof that the henro has visited the temple and as a keepsake of the pilgrimage. Nokyocho are usually buried with the deceased pilgrim when their time has come as a precious item. On the left is temple 49 Jodo-ji and on the right page is temple 48 Sairin-ji both located in Matsuyama, Ehime, Shikoku, Japan.
