Silhouettes: The best photo will be awarded $225. In addition, the most creative shots will be chosen for the Snapwire Premium Collection.
Silhouettes are a great way to showcase the subject and the landscape surrounding. A silhouette can be of a person or really any subject that you desire in a shadow like state. Props are a great way to create an interesting silhouette. For most, capturing a silhouette during sunset is the easiest, but a sunset is not required to capture these types of photos. I try and incorporate silhouettes periodically to add a new dynamic to my photography. I typically try and center the subject in the frame and adjust the exposure so that the surrounding landscapes have the most color and that the main subject is in focus and silhouetted. Have fun!
