I need a photo of a house's exterior door opening onto a Christmas scene. Focus is on the door.
This photo will fill the inspirational back page of our magazine with full bleed, so it should be large and vertical, suitable for tearing out and putting on the fridge. There needs to be space for a small, two-sentence Buddhist quote about bringing a peaceful mind to a Christmas celebration being the best gift one can give. We are a Buddhist magazine known for the high quality of art and photography we publish, so it needs to be a beautiful, quiet shot that doesn't look stock. We're also a non-profit, so we can't afford to pay a lot. This is my first test of Snapwire, to see whether the site can meet our rather restrictive needs.
A wreath on the door would probably be good. It's not necessary to see the person opening the door, and the scene inside can be quite blurry, with people and festivity mostly implied. I imagine the door taking up about two thirds of the composition, where the text would go. The concept is that the viewer is arriving at a family gathering and reminding herself about compassion and peace of mind just before entering.
I've included a couple of photos I found in looking for stock images. Neither is entirely on concept, and they're both a bit too stock-looking, but they give an idea of the direction I'm looking for.
Thanks, and good luck! :)
