3 pairs of hands, holding water

I would like a photo that illustrates a metaphor I use for good management.

Good management is like cupping your hands when collecting water. Your hands need to be open enough to let the water in, but well structured enough to support it.

Left Side of Photo / Photo 1:
Hands that are limp, don't collect water--it falls through the gaps.

Middle of Photo / Photo 2:
Hands that are cupped firm, but open, hold water.

Right of Photo / Photo 3:
Hands that squeeze tightly, trying to control everything, fail to collect much water.

I would prefer the photos from the perspective of the person holding the water, not from an observer. This will make it easier to empathize. The inspiration image below is from observer perspective, so that's not what I'm after.

The photos could be of 3 people side by side (would need a shot from above), but I think may be easier and more effective as the same person's hands, photographed in all three poses.

The middle photo could be something like attached. I like how clean and simple this is, however it feels too corporate and lacks soul! (and it's from the wrong angle, as per above note).

I'd prefer something that feels a bit more modern and hip, with a bit of soul to it. I work mostly with smaller modern companies with a hipster design sense.

9 years ago - thanks for nomination!!!
9 years ago - @Ben Sand. Did you like the nominated photos the way that they are or would you like me to make any adjustments?
9 years ago - I submitted a couple sets of hands in requested format at a local riverbed. Let me know if you would like me to adjust them if they work for your project and I can work on adjustments.
9 years ago - @bensandcastle I see you extended the time. Thank you! I'll follow your instructions and give it a try in a few hours :)
9 years ago - @stevewarwick let me know if you need any more guidance, please check all the messages I wrote here, and I think you'll be able to do something on target
9 years ago - @marinopili I nominated that photo for aesthetics and photography style. It is not suitable due to the hands catching water, but the exact same style, lighting, background, etc. would be perfect with slightly different poses and rising out of a stream
9 years ago - @Bensandcastle sorry Ben, have just seen your replies. I'll have a go at this over the weekend to see if I can give you what you're after!
9 years ago - @bensandcastle It is a bit confusing that you say hands should be rising out of water when the only one you nominated is of hands catching water
9 years ago - The third pair of hands should be in tight fists. eg. http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140207163343/km-sandbox/images/5/57/Two_fists_omfg_pawnch.png All photos should be rising out of water, ideally a stream/brook, but any body of water could be ok, rather than catching water from a tap.
9 years ago - The second pair of hands should be cupped firmly, openly and look the most inviting: eg. http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/x/cupped-hands-14210696.jpg or http://e08595.medialib.glogster.com/media/4d/4dc2a79baac35c3dc7173e44ae18bbb2273fbaaea35fd2a0b2e4259032d09eb7/hands-cupped.jpg (love this shot)
9 years ago - @stevewarwick and everyone: Please make sure the hands are in distinct poses. the first pair should be limp, eg: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/337/7/a/limp_hand_by_octopus_interphone-d5myr2a.jpg
9 years ago - @stevewarwick I like your portfolio. So far this photo stands out to me most of all submissions due to the lighting and background, but I don't think it was created for this proposal: https://www.snapwi.re/photo/detail/553e8ec271875c633c0c306a
9 years ago - Hi Ben, I've uploaded three separate photos and hope they will work for you. I can make one photo collage if you need. Cheers.
9 years ago - @bensandcastle Hi Ben, I've uploaded a few shots, the 3 separate ones and a panoramic collage of all 3. The proportions on the panoramic collage are intended, wide open, right (square) and too close...I hope the shots work for your requirements
9 years ago - Do you prefer 3 separate photos? Or one photo with 3 shots?
9 years ago - I'll be all over this tomorrow Ben. Any preference of indoors or outdoors? Backgrounds etc?
