Part two of my Dogwood series. This area, located in the San Bernardino National Forest in California, is situated in a densely wooded area with tall conifers and lush undergrowth. This image was taken as a fire was consuming almost 19,000 acres or 48 square kilometers, just a few miles away, causing smoke to fill the surrounding forests. The smoke, however, created these crepuscular rays along the forest floor during the golden hour.
