Creative Statement
My name is Mohnish Bisht and I'm a Delhi-based freelance visual artist (photographer and film maker) specializing in landscape, travel, documentary , music concerts, social photography and films. In most of my work one can see that I combine my love of the natural world with the diverse cultures.
Born in a small village of the Indian Himalayas, I have a special place for mountains and you will find some of my photography work capturing the beauty of the Himalayan mountain range and of other world peaks.
I have been working in the field of visual artistry for the last 7 years, bringing together my passion for photography with my love of travel and adventure; from trekking in the Indian Himalayas to walking on volcanoes in Iceland, scuba diving in the French coast line to discovering the west coast of America.
After first working as a writer for an advertising agency I moved to film making and have worked with many film production houses over the years. My video work and documentary has won few awards and nominations.
Over the period I have been working for various commercial clients, NGOs and World Organizations either as a video director, video cameraman or photographer.
While specializing in landscape, travel and music concerts photography, I also do commercial works for corporate and weddings.
On a personal level, I'm a marathon runner, Mountaineer and hiker with A - Grade certification ( Basic and Advanced mountaineering skills), from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, India and a motorcyclist. So when I'm not working for my clients, I'm either preparing for my next marathon race or climbing in the mountains.
