Creative Statement
My name is Edward Santos and I am a Veteran Artist. I am a NY native, born and raised in the Bronx. I am a Medically Retired U.S Army Sergeant – Disabled Veteran. I served two tours in Afghanistan with Connecticut’s, 1-102nd INF BCT (MTN). I discovered painting during an art therapy class given at my local VA in trying to deal with my PSTD. Since that day I have completed over 100 paintings and view art as my saving grace. My Paintings represent me whether abstract, Landscapes, pointillism, wet on wet. They represent the gratitude! Grateful in knowing, that while I loved my job and was proud of what I stood for as a Soldier, I was always fearful of never coming home, never seeing my family. The images I paint and the bright colors I use represent the beauty of life, which never should be taken for granted. I am a Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, Veteran and Artist!
