I am a full-time photographer specializing in food and product photography. This journey began simply enough when I picked up a camera in 2007 to assist in my sketching with charcoal and graphite. Quickly followed by learning how to process film and make prints, this lead to having gallery exhibits and commissions for photographic services including permanent installations at local businesses. These opportunities encouraged an expansion to shooting digital images for commercial work.
After moving to Seattle in 2012, I split my time cooking in restaurants and continuing to grow a photography business, as well as improving my techniques and skills like working with studio lighting. I have stepped out of the kitchen to devote myself completely to pursue photography with a focus on food, working with over 200 restaurants and food service providers in the greater Seattle area since making that move. I look forward to continue collaborating with new clients, appreciating the diversity and variety of establishments in the area I have been fortunate enough to work with already.
When I am "off the clock" I enjoy traveling to learn about other societies and cultures (with a heavy emphasis on their cuisine, art and architecture). So far I have been able to make trips to ten different countries, some multiple times. I also appreciate the beauty and opportunities offered to us in Washington, frequently visiting Leavenworth (often to rock climb), Wenatchee, Yakima and many places closer to home. Of course, I bring a camera with me to document these road trips often making portraits of a willing though not always enthusiastic model, my dog Ruby.
