Creative Statement

Showing my art to other people is new to me because it has never been about other people - its about what I see. To me everything isn't exactly how it first appears. My photography is about understanding that not everything is what it seems because it can sometimes change and appear to be something new.
I started to see things in a different way when my grandfather passed away. I began taking pictures of things we see everyday but ended up capturing a different perspective of them. Photography helped me get away and do something for myself. It allowed me to open up and capture images in a still shot the way MY eyes see things.
I'm currently an elementary teacher just trying to find different ways to explore what God put here in front of me. I would love to meet people who make their sense of sight an art.
