I am an amateur photographer. If selling my photographs takes me technically out of that definition, I respectfully disagree. Because there is always something new to learn from every photograph - keeping the whole act of capturing a moment alive.
I really do believe, if we keep our eyes, hearts and minds open, there is a new sight to see every day, even in the seen-before, maybe especially in the seen-before. The camera allows me to share what shows up in my world, bringing me wonder, dismay, amazement, heartache or a shout of laughter, sometimes all at once.
In the silence of the lens, I work within the views captured to show and share that part of the world I'm seeing, where words fail and the photo, if I'm lucky, tells its story.
