The Streets of Detroit are in me so I let them out with ink and paper!
G.E.N.E. is a Detroit native that learned how to win small audiences at the tender age of three, spawning his musical career in the back room of his grandmother’s house in Detroit. He is a self-taught vocalist that has been involved in school and church choirs since first grade. This trend continued throughout his musical career and has landed him at Ray of Hope Community Church in Nashville Tennessee for a two year stay as one of their worship leaders. He is now a choir member at Judah Temple of Praise in Nashville Tennessee, and he is also the host of Soul Lounge (Nashville) where his band Greenfield & 6 Mile is the house band.
As an artist on a mission, G.E.N.E. stays true to his soulful and sultry Motown roots; you can surely tell that this is an era that has influenced the life and sound of his music. As if he was the music of Motown, G.E.N.E. is truly different, fresh, and unique. There is an uncanny ability seated in this artist that captures the emotion and intensity of an audience whether he is being recorded or you can reach out and touch him. He is an R&B and Jazz crooner that will definitely leave you feeling revitalized, refreshed, and renewed. You have found a diamond in the rough when you come within earshot of his soon-to-be legendary voice.
In a new career that spans Detroit, San Diego, and Nashville, he is already well traveled. He has performed at Mackenzie High School in Detroit, and at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar’s E-Club in San Diego. He has also performed at the Love Noise, BB Kings, Stratford High School, The Rhythm Kitchen, Pearl Fusion Restro, Sports Page, Centennial Park for the Lupas Foundation, and The Place in his new hometown of Nashville. G.E.N.E.’s first ever single, “Dance With Me”, is currently available for download on iTunes, and his first self titled album “Good Entertainment Never Ends“ is forthcoming and will contain plenty of what invokes, rekindles, and renews your thirst for good music. All in all G.E.N.E. has a name that truly fits him, “Good Entertainment Never Ends”.
