Hi, my name is Joel Ostrem and I am a 20 year-old self-taught photographer out of Scottsdale, Arizona. I am currently a freelance photographer who also works as the photographer/designer at Mesa United Way. I started photography when I was 15 when I picked up my first film camera at an antique store for 20 bucks. It was a zone-focus camera with a broken light meeter and that's what I did all my learning on until I got my first SLR later on. I love to point out beauty in places and things usually unseen. Beauty in the mundane. I take pictures wanting to convey a sense of beauty and let you have insight into what I was feeling and thinking as I took the shot. I love analog film photography but I shoot digital as well. My two favorite cameras to shoot with are my Hasselblad 500C/M and my Fuji X-Pro1.
