Creative Statement
I was born a southern girl, and I’ll die a southern girl. I am excited to share images depicting both the “beautiful” and the “ugly” that shaped me into the woman I am today. There is beauty in darkness just as there is darkness in beauty. I find poetry in the stories of those before me including images of the streets and paths taken. Tragedy and pain would be nothing without happiness and joy. I plan to depict this in my photography.
