Creative Statement

I am originally from the Republic of Palau, a small Island Country of only 21,000 people. Growing up in Palau i developed my interest for pencil art drawings from tracing my favorite cartoon figures until I developed a passion for drawing true to life images and abstract, which i did in cheap water painting later on as well. However, due to the country's isolation and young history, art in Palau is merely considered as an occupation unless you carved it onto a wood storyboard or painted the traditional meeting places (Abai). Still, no matter how much time of dedication, you will still make far less than an amature fisherman and his catch per day. Its was then in Highschool when i decided to put my paintbrush away for good until i finished business school in the Philippines. Even for the whole duration of my college years, i still managed to sneak some time to scetch a few on my note pad. Today, with my hectic daily schedule between family and demanding occupation as a government official based here in the Philippines, photography is my new-found love in expressing my passion for art and i take them daily and everywhere i go around the world whether it be for business or pleasure. I Thank the App creators for making my dreams as an artist come true.. -nb☺️
